Relativity @ Illinois Physics
The Illinois Relativity Group investigates multiple topics that involve relativistic gravitation (e.g., Einstein's theory of general relativity) for an accurate description. Recently much of our focus deals with the inspiral, merger and post-merger of compact objects — black holes and neutron stars — and the generation of gravitational wave observations of ground-based detectors (LIGO, LIGO-India, Virgo, KAGRA) and space-based detectors (LISA), to learn more about the extreme physics of our universe.
