Scalar-tensor models of gravity can avoid standard fifth-force searches when they feature appropriate screening mechanisms. In the context of highly-relativistic Neutron Stars, however, such mechanisms can fail and lead to potentially observable effects.

In this talk I will focus on "symmetron screening", review the typical signatures of a scalar field coupled to an isolated star and discuss the possible implications for binary systems.
