The South Pole Telescope (SPT) is a 10 meter Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) telescope located at the Amundsen Scott South Pole Station. In 2017 SPT-3G, a new camera with 2,700 tri-chroic pixels and 16,200 transition edge sensor bolometers was installed on the SPT. I will discuss the technology of the SPT-3G camera along with it's science capabilities. I will end by discussing the upcoming CMB-S4 experiment, focusing on the South Pole Large Aperture Telescope component. |
