Latest constraints on dark matter from strong gravitational lensing

Simona Vegetti (MPA Garching)

The nature of dark matter is one of the most important unsolved problems of modern astrophysics, and strong gravitational lensing is a very promising tool to tackle this issue because the physics of dark matter strongly affects predictions for the abundance and inner structure of dark matter haloes. In this talk, I will demonstrate how strong gravitational lensing provides a definitive test on the properties of dark matter and its interplay with baryonic processes. I will review the current status of this field and provide an outlook on future prospects.

Zoom link will be sent to the astro@physics.illinois.edu mailing list. There will be an informal meet-and-greet with the speaker at 11:30am Central.
